Apple iPhone 3G in Dubai?

Hard not to get caught up in the iPhone 3G fever. What with 1 million iphones sold in 2 or 3 days we cannot really ignore it. Looking at the people queuing up and camping out for the latest iPhone has me wondering whether the new 3G iPhone is what it seems – the ultimate in Phone technology.

Sad I dont think it is going to be officially launched in the UAE anytime soon, but with a lot of genius minds out there, we might actually be able to get some 3G iPhones on our hands sometime in the near future.

I still remember the early iPhone days, When people used to sell iPhones in this part of the world discreetly since it was not officially launched. But with each passing day, retailers started selling openly and larger retailers followed suit. Soon a lot of iPhones were exchanging hands and before we knew, we got caught in the iPhone craze. I could see one in 15 people carrying an iPhone in popular malls.

With the 3G fever catching the whole wide world, we are sure not to be left behind. Rumours are afloat that the 3G iPhone is going to make its way to Dubai in a weeks time. It will be quite expensive at first, around 4,000 dirhams or 4,500 dirhams ( now who will shell out that amount!!). I would keep my money in my pockets and wait a couple of weeks for the price to come to an acceptable 3,000 dirham tag.
