Nokia E71 is available in the Dubai
Nokia E71 is available in the UAE now in all leading retail stores.
We sure have a lot of expectations on the E71 as it is a successor to the very popular E61 and E61i models.
A simple review shows the phone is excellent, good looks, great functionality, easy to use, very good business tool boasting email features, video call camera, Bluetooth, Wifi.
The only drawback we can see is that the keyboard is small and difficult to type. Maybe it will be ok after we get used to the small keys.

The E71 Avaialbale with all good stores and small shops in UAE are made in Korea and have Arabic/English keyboard. However you can find English keyboard only in Lamcy Centre. and this english version is made in Finland.
The price for English version is 2199 AED. For Arabic/English it is 2105 in all big shops and 1600 in Alain centre, Computer Plaza.

This way they cannot drop prices, they need to consult Nokia distributor first!

I bought a Nokia E66 from the ‘Switch’ store located in Lamcy Plaza

April 2009.
Yesterday, the phone screen began to blank out. Today, I took the phone back to Switch, who directed
me to the Nokia Authorized Service points. I then approached Aptec Gulf (Al Safina Bldg, Zabeel
Road, PO Box 33550, Dubai), who after inspection, estimated 3-4 days for the repair.
On requesting for a replacement phone set during the course of repair, Aptec advised me that they
would only do so if the phone was bought from them.
I then went back to Switch, in the hope that they would provide a similar customer service. I was
however mistaken, as this request was rejected by Mr. Zoher in Switch.
As a last resort, I called Nokia UAE on 8000 444 9813. I first spoke with Mr. Jade, who asked to
speak with Mr. Zoher in Switch as I was still in the store, bereft of a phone. After speaking with
Mr. Zoher, Mr. Jade disconnected the phone, inspite of me waiting to hear his decision. I then
recalled Nokia. Mr. Jade handed over the phone to Mr. Kamar, who expressed his unwillingness to give
me a replacement phone set.
Please let me know if this is the policy of Nokia.
After having paid AED 1350 (US$370), I would have imagined that the Nokia phone would last me a lot
more than 3 months!
Inspite of having a choice of several brands of mobile phones, I chose Nokia. I am hoping to have
been satisfied with the Nokia shopping experience, which so far appears cynical.
I would appreciate if you could look into the matter & respond with a solution, at the
earliest.
I hope you can appreciate the importance of being contactable, especially in my sales &
marketing role.
As you can see, I have merely shuttled between the store & service center, still devoid

I bought a Nokia E66 from the ‘Switch’ store located in Lamcy Plaza
Dubai on 23
April 2009.
Yesterday, the phone screen began to blank out. Today, I took the phone back to Switch, who directed
me to the Nokia Authorized Service points. I then approached Aptec Gulf (Al Safina Bldg, Zabeel
Road, PO Box 33550, Dubai), who after inspection, estimated 3-4 days for the repair.
On requesting for a replacement phone set during the course of repair, Aptec advised me that they
would only do so if the phone was bought from them.
I then went back to Switch, in the hope that they would provide a similar customer service. I was
however mistaken, as this request was rejected by Mr. Zoher in Switch.
As a last resort, I called Nokia UAE on 8000 444 9813. I first spoke with Mr. Jade, who asked to
speak with Mr. Zoher in Switch as I was still in the store, bereft of a phone. After speaking with
Mr. Zoher, Mr. Jade disconnected the phone, inspite of me waiting to hear his decision. I then
recalled Nokia. Mr. Jade handed over the phone to Mr. Kamar, who expressed his unwillingness to give
me a replacement phone set.
Please let me know if this is the policy of Nokia.
After having paid AED 1350 (US$370), I would have imagined that the Nokia phone would last me a lot
more than 3 months!
Inspite of having a choice of several brands of mobile phones, I chose Nokia. I am hoping to have
been satisfied with the Nokia shopping experience, which so far appears cynical.
I would appreciate if you could look into the matter & respond with a solution, at the
earliest.
I hope you can appreciate the importance of being contactable, especially in my sales &
marketing role.
As you can see, I have merely shuttled between the store & service center, still devoid
of a
solution to the above.
Please note that I had to brave the searing summer temperatures of Dubai, lack to parking space as
well as the time & effort spent attempting to resolve my Nokia fiasco.

if you are worried about duplicates, best is to buy from a reputed retailer. You can go to Sharaf DG, Cellucom, Axiom. You will not get duplicates there.
Usually shopkeepers will tell you if it is original or duplicate.

E52 and E71 very similar, E52 is newer but E71 sells much more than E52.
Internal memory E71 has a bit more, E52 has faster processor otherwise they almost match each other in terms of camera mega pixel, wifi, 3G, bluetooth

Hello Binil, We believe Finland made Nokia phones are not in circulation, at least not much. Now it comes from China and South Korea. However we have no way of knowing if the ones you see are duplicates. Usually the shop keepers are honest and will tell you if it is a duplicate. You should also check the Nokia warranty.

While we cannot say for sure if it is original, we can say that there are many originals made in Korea. If you got it for near the original price then it should be original.
